dna June 14, 2013 hip-hop, news No Comments

Following a rough week which began with started with an attempted robbery in San Francisco last week, 2 Chainz finally speaks out about the random incident. Stopping by Atlanta’s Hot 107.9 on Friday, the man formerly known as Tity Boi breaks down what happened that afternoon with Emperor Searcy, Mz Shyneka, and Mister Smith. He explains making a run for it once a gun was pulled on him, not realizing how serious the moment was, the robbers asking for is wallet, not cooperating with police once they arrived on scene, and beefing up his security.

“I saw the gun first. It was like a .357. It was so heavy he couldn’t really hold it. The gun was so big. That’s what made me take off running.

When I went into the street, there was another dude with a whole ‘nother gun. That’s when I knew it wasn’t like an episode of ‘Punk’d.’ I was like this is real. … I had bullet fragments in my hair. … I think he thought he shot me. It was a misfortunate accident. I didn’t fill out a report. I don’t think they were trying to rob me. They really was just busting on me on some real stuff. At the end of the day, it’s just a part of me growing as an artist, me becoming more pop, me becoming a superstar.

I’m just excited about life. I’m so turnt up, you can’t turn me down. I’m just geeked about life. Then when I saw the footage, I’m like it was real. ‘They was on my ass!’ This was a sign. That’s all it was. I come from this.”
